Attend this important webinar to learn about the latest changes in the Office of Long Term Living which impact the role of the Assessment Coordinator.  Learn how to register for the new Case Mix Index Reporting System, how to interpret the information in the reporting system and the new/revised documentation guidelines.  In addition you learn of other changes at the Office of Long Term Living which impact the skilled nursing facility.

 

Cathy Petko, RN, BSN, is a graduate of the University of Rochester, is a Senior Nurse Consultant with Myers and Stauffer LC which is a contractor to the PA Department of Public Welfare and Department of Health.  She coordinates with providers, state agency personnel, and other office staff on nursing issues relating to RUG-IIIclassification and case-mix payment implementation.  She also works with Field Operations personnel to develop MDSaudit tools for implementation of case-mix payment systems.  She has participated in leading training sessions on the MDS2.0 and MDS3.0, electronic submission, RUG classification system and Case Mix reimbursement, as well as providing quarterly teleconferences and newsletters on MDS/RUG issues for the last 21 years.  She works with the federal Data Management system and other software programs to assist providers in their data submissions and provide state personnel with reports.

 

Ruth Anne Barnard, RN, BSN, is a graduate of Lycoming College.  She has been the MDS/ OBRA Coordinator for the Division of Nursing Facility Field Operations Unit for the Bureau of Quality and Provider Management in the Office of Long Term Living in the Department of Public Welfare since 2002.  She researches areas of concern and provides guidance to the Division of Nursing Facility Field Operations Teams and others statewide for MDS and OBRA issues.  She also spent 14 years in the clinical setting as a Supervisor in a Rehabilitation Facility and as a Medical/Surgical Staff Nurse before coming to Division.
