This will be a lunch and learn session designed to assist the attendee to understand;


This presentation provides a basic overview of ICD-10-CM and discusses the reasons for the changeover, the differences between ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM, a basic outline of ICD-10-CM and some considerations as to who is impacted by the changeover.  This is not a coding training but an introduction to the new coding system.

A graduate of Temple University‚Äôs Health Information Management program, Mary Ann has worked as a Medical Records Consultant in long term care for nearly 3 decades.  She has conducted educational programs on various medical records related topics and conducts the medical record portion of the Nursing Home Administration program for the Institute for Continuing Education and Research (ICER) and York College.  She has successfully completed the AANAC Assessment Coordinator certificate program and update.  Mary Ann is also active in the Pennsylvania Health Information Management Association and the American Health Information Management Association by holding various positions and membership in the Long Term Care Practice Council.  She is a founding and charter member of the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators.  Currently she is past member of the PANAC Board of Directors.
