2014 Public Health Training Institutes

The Pennsylvania Department of Health in coordination with the Bureau of Public Health Preparedness and the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare will be hosting two regional Public Health Training Institutes (PHTI) this year.  The  2014 Public Health Training Institutes will be on May 21, 2014 at the Kingston Armory, Wilkes-Barre, PA. The PHTI is designed to strengthen the capabilities and coordination of emergency preparedness efforts through networking, partnerships, coalition building and training.  The PHTI appeals to nurses, emergency medical service personnel, public health and safety professionals, as well as anyone involved in any phase of emergency preparedness and disaster relief.  The courses include; Psychological First Aid; Responder Safety and Preventing Collective Violence:  Group, Crowd and Mob Aggression, and Shelter Fundamentals to name a few.

Registration is FREE and lunch will be provided along with continuing education credits for nurses (Act 58), school personnel (Act 48) and emergency medical services (ConEd).
