MDS Coordinator Positions

MDS Coordinator (Virtual or On-site prn)

The virtual or on‐site PRN MDS Coordinator will collect, review and data enter the clinical information related to the assigned MDS following federal and state mandated regulations/requirements and the current MDS 3.0 RAI guidelines.
Responsibilities

  • Monitoring facility admissions and discharges and opening appropriate MDS tracking forms in the electronic health record (EHR).

  • Timely open and completion of all OBRA and Medicare tracking and MDS assessments within the clients EHR.

  • Timely transmissions of MDS assessments to the QIES database, monitoring validation reports, and completing modifications as needed.

  • Ensure timely completion of all MDS sections by the interdisciplinary team.

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of any state Medicaid documents (i.e., case-mix, resident roster, audits).

  • Attend client meetings (i.e., Medicare, triple-check, etc.).

  • All other duties as assigned by client and/or RKL Senior Living Consulting management team.

  • Professional collaboration with clients with a focus on client satisfaction and retention.

  • Respond to client calls and emails in a timely manner and work with the team to provide appropriate solutions for clients.

  • Work with the RKL Senior Living Consulting management team to assist with development of client efficient MDS Department processes.

  • Keep up to date on state and federal regulations related to the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) and reimbursement changes.

  • Participate in continuous learning activities and research to improve and develop own and others technical expertise and apply learned concepts.

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred; current RN/LPN licensure required

  • 3-5 years current experience working with RAI MDS 3.0 and PDPM guidelines

  • Experience with LTC/SNF clinical documentation/ MDS software and therapy software systems

  • Prior experience in a long-term care setting required

  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations

  • Strong knowledge of Federal Medicare and state Medicaid reimbursement

  • Strong knowledge/background in post-acute care regulatory compliance and reimbursement guidelines

  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of health care industry with ability to provide solutions to meet client needs and maximize value of deliverables

  • Ability to adapt and utilize clients electronic health record (EHR)

  • Competency of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Self-motivated and willingness to enhance accounting and advisory knowledge

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects
